The Yankees are the most storied franchise in professional sports. As a result, everyone has an opinion about them – you either love them or hate them. They’re my favorite baseball team and whether or not you like them, it’s easy to recognize Derek Jeter as a standout player – one of the classiest people both on and off the field, a personification of what the Yankees should be about.
Tony Gwynn autographed the portrait that I painted of him, and it will be available to bid on at the 2009 Switchfoot Bro-Am auction night event on Thursday, June 24th, 2009. All of the money from the auction will benefit StandUp for Kids . The signature reads “Tony Gwynn HOF/07″

I grew up with Star Trek and Star Wars. My family would sit down and watch episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation while more normal families were watching something more conventional (read: less nerdy) like Family Matters.

My friend Meyek plays a lot of poker. He’s a very successful player and seems to always be winning. He once told me he swam across the English Channel, but he says a lot of things. I spent a while learning how to play properly, and I became better than him and beat him a bunch of times (I say a lot of things, too).
